The fire department come to put out a fire in your car. To your great surprise, you get a bill for the services you received since you aren’t a resident of the city where the incident happened.
Do you have to pay it?
Good news! The auto insurance policy reimburses fees for emergency response services when the aim of the service is to prevent or fight a vehicle fire, whether you’re responsible for the incident or not.
Included in your policy
You don’t need specified coverage to be insured for such expenses. If you don’t have Section B coverage (damage to your vehicle), the insurer will pay the costs under Section A additional coverage (mandatory insurance).
Pay the bill
If you receive a bill, just forward it to your insurer for follow-up and payment.
